Supporting Higher Education Programs for Business, Government and Non-Governmental (NGO) Managers
The Foundation has developed, in partnership with Israel's major universities, management programs preparing the next generation of business and public sector managers. Special emphasis has been placed upon programs that improve undergraduate and graduate level training for business students, mid-career civil servants and NGO employees. These universities include:

The Marc Rich Foundation Executive MA in Public Administration and Policy, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Bersheva, Israel
The Executive Program aims to upgrade management and leadership skills of public administrators. Special efforts are made to recruit managers from Israel's developing areas, women and minority groups (Arab, Bedouin and Druze) who are in pursuit of continued professional training to advance their NGO and civil service careers.
Jerusalem College of Engineering
Together with high-tech industries and Jerusalem's Municipality, the Foundation has supported the development of a computer laboratory and library in a new educational centre.

Providing Scholarship Programs
In order to encourage individual excellence, hundreds of scholarships were given to promising students at academic institutions.
The Foundation has established at Jacobs University, Bremen a scholarship program and supports Israeli University Doctoral and MBA Scholarships in a variety of areas of academic study.
In Support of Scientific research and education, the Foundation developed programs supporting women scientists, new immigrant scientists (primarily from former Soviet bloc countries), and returning Israeli scientists from abroad.
International MBA Scholarships
MBA Scholarships were awarded to outstanding students in Europe, the United States and Israel. Upon graduation, scholarship recipients have a choice of either volunteering hours of community service or reimbursing the grant.
Immigrant Scholarships
As a consequence of the massive immigration to Israel of nearly one million people from the former Soviet Union in the 1990s, the Foundation together with the Israeli Ministry of Science, sponsored research scholarship programs to facilitate the academic integration of scientists. Immigrant scientists were given support to continue their research in institutions of higher learning.

Strengthening Democracy through Formal and Informal Education
Taking on the challenges to move towards the development of a stable, democratic political culture in Israel is one of the major goals. Approaches to build a stronger civil society in both formal and informal educational networks - from the sponsorship of international seminars to support of formal university programs such as the Center for the Study of European Politics and Society at Ben Gurion University.
International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism
Research on the psychological effects of terrorism on high-school pupils is one of the areas the Foundation is sponsoring. Courses have been developed and conducted in schools and organizations in order to teach strategies helping to cope with the psychological consequences of terrorism.
Symposium on the Philosophy of Religion
An international symposium on the philosophy of religion was sponsored at the University of Zurich's Department of Philosophy.

Improving Libraries and Resource Centers
Convinced that libraries and resource centers are essential tools for transferring information and stimulating ideas, the Foundation has supported numerous facilities throughout the world, amongst them the building of the main library and extension at the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center which is Israel's first private college.
The Catholic Institute for Education in South Africa
The Institute received the support of the Solon, Jacobs and Rich Foundations to assist children with HIV/AIDS in their studies. Their workbook on HIV/AIDS for schools, "Courage to Care" was produced and widely distributed.

Increasing Educational Opportunities for Disadvantaged/Disabled Students
"Books are Friends" Project; the Centre for Educational Technology in cooperation with the Council for Children in Placement, Israel
Resource Centers containing books, computers, games and educational programs were established in residential group homes. Educational staff receives ongoing training and guidance in encouraging reading and comprehension skills of students.

Advanced Educational Technology for Hospitalized and Homebound Children
Kav-Or Distance Learning, Israel
Children with lengthy illnesses often fall behind in school during their long hospitalization. Kav-Or enables hospitalized children to continue studying through computerized distance learning programs. Hospital pediatric wards were equipped and transformed into schoolrooms.
