Tel Aviv University awards an honorary doctorate to Marc Rich

On 18 May 2009, Tel Aviv University (TAU) awarded an honorary doctorate to Marc Rich. The award was in recognition of the outstanding pioneering role played by Marc Rich in the international markets, as well as of his great contributions through the Marc Rich Foundation for Education, Culture and Welfare in Israel and numerous other countries.

Marc Rich received the award of an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University on 18 May 2009, in the presence of his family and friends. Tel Aviv University thus paid tribute to the contribution made by Marc Rich to the development of education and research. At the same time, it acknowledged Marc Rich's continuous commitment to dialogue and cross-cultural understanding between peoples, and in particular his lifelong work on behalf of the Jewish community and Israel.
Marc Rich receives Sheba Humanitarian Award

For over a decade the Rich Foundations have supported the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, the largest and most comprehensive medical center in the Middle East, which helps more than one million patients a year. Founded by Prof. Chaim Sheba in 1948, the medical center outside of Tel Aviv serves patients from the entire region – regardless of their religion or nationality.

The Sheba Medical Center honored Marc Rich for his "outstanding support" with the "Sheba Humanitarian Award 2008" on February 19th, 2008. Former recipients of this award are Michael Douglas, Elisabeth Taylor and President Gerald R. Ford.
Marc Rich receives honorary doctorate

The Israeli Bar-Ilan University awarded an honorary doctorate to Marc Rich on May 15, 2007. The doctorate was awarded for his longstanding and generous support of educational, cultural and welfare institutions in Israel and around the globe, as well as his significant and effective contribution toward promoting the University’s research activity in biology and medicine, as the Board of Trustees of the Bar-Ilan University announced.
Aleh Negev Rehabilitation Village

Aleh Negev is a rehabilitative village and home to 220 disabled adults, who suffer from mental and physical impairment. The Rich Foundation and the Rich family supported the construction and were personally thanked by the Israeli Government.
Rabin Medical Center

In April 2006 the “Gabrielle Rich Departement of Hemato Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation” was opened in Petah Tikva. The Department emphasizes a warm, home-like environment and maximum patient comfort and privacy.
